Dallas Stars Detroit Sport reviews
NHL Hockey in Tulsa
More advertising of the game is recommended, TV, radio etc... Consider autograph signings for the home team or select players of each team. Consider having the game 'count' in that it is a real league game. An exhibition game has many prospects trying to make the team and if the league is trying to gauge Tulsa's interest in Hockey and possibly having an NHL team here at a future time, make it worth the fans time/dollars so they can see the players that have made the team. Another option could be to bring in teams that have a strong fan base across the country, Detroit, Chicago, St. Louis is close and are affiliated indirectly with the St. Louis Cardinals. Could the Russian or Swedish national teams come in an play against an NHL team? Try to bring in some Hall of Famers for the game to sign autographs, bring the Stanley Cup here for photo ops prior to the start of the game, or after the game is over. The Oilers have done this once before many years ago. I liked the game, I was disappointed it was not sold out. Having the game during the college football season, not a good idea in Oklahoma.
Game was great, leaving not so much.
To get it out of the way the game, American Airlines staff and all of the offerings in the arena were fantastic. 5 Stars!
Now leaving is a whole other story, specifically the taxi stand. 5 taxis, all lined up at the stand all fused to turn their meter on or said it was broken. They would only except cash and quoted me $30 to $40 for a 1.5 mile trip . When challenged that it was against the law for them not to turn on the meter they either laughed or 1 driver even said call 911. Why American Airlines Center would allow this to happen is beyond me. I have no problem paying the actual rate but to outright refuse to turn on your meter and laugh about it is insulting and shouldn't be allowed. The arena needs to get their act together and kick them all off of the property or make the follow the law. For that matter replace the taxi's with an Uber and Lyft pickup area.
As someone who typically goes to a handful of games a year and some other additional events this was very disappointing experience.
A 5 Star/Goal Experience For Sharks Fan’s 6th Ever Roadie
The Dallas Stars’ Friday, November 11, 2022 game was my 6th ever San Jose Sharks regular season road game attended. As the Main Event of my 1st ever trip to Texas that already included tours of AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Field and The Star In Frisco, this Sharks @ Stars game had some tough acts to follow; in the end, this hockey game had enough flair to cap off my 1st trip to Dallas in style.
What made this night even more sweeter was having a Platinum Level seat. Even though I was near a cement wall that obstructed one corner of the ice rink, being on that level made me enjoy American Airlines Center more than I anticipated. I enjoyed a Dallas Hot Chicken Sandwich with a Bottomless Souvenir Soda; the bottomless soda would’ve been better if there were self-serve soda fountains throughout the arena (or just Platinum Level) like at the new Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.
I was fortunate to sit next to some nice hometown Stars fans who enjoyed my stories about my 1st ever visit to Dallas that week. I even enjoyed sharing my Dallas stories with an usher (near The Hangar) on the Platinum Level. American Airlines Center is 1 of my new favorite NHL arenas.
This was my best San Jose Sharks road trip so far, regardless of how the game turned out. Props to the Dallas Stars for making a dramatic finish.
